Key Highlights
- The scheme aims to invigorate and revitalize cultural institutions under the Ministry of Culture and other identified cultural institutions.
- Open to both Indian and foreign nationals.
- Eligible candidates: Scholars with sound academic/professional credentials who have made significant contributions in their fields through original research papers in reputed journals and books.
Two Categories of Awards
- Tagore National Fellows
- Honorarium: ₹80,000 per month
- Up to 15 awards per year
- Tagore Research Scholars
- Honorarium: Up to ₹50,000 per month
- Up to 25 awards per year
Application Process
- Candidates must submit their complete application to any one of the Nodal Institutions of their choice (depending on the proposed area of research).
- The list of nodal institutions and the application form are available on:
- Ministry of Culture website: https://culture.gov.in
- Prime Ministers Museum and Library: www.pmmil.nic.in (under the Scheme Head)
- Last Date: Applications must reach the respective Nodal Institution on or before 15 July 2026.
- Applicants do not need to send a copy to the Ministry of Culture or PMML.
- Late applications will be summarily rejected.
