Eligibility Criteria: What You Need to Qualify

AVS has set clear minimum qualifications, emphasizing recognized degrees and a minimum 55% marks in relevant exams. Degrees from off-campus institutions outside Assam (unless from KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University, or Distance Education under Dibrugarh University) won’t be considered valid.

Post Graduate Teachers (Arts & Science)

  • Arts: PG in Arts with 55% in both UG and PG in the subject, plus B.Ed. from NCTE-recognized institution.
  • Science: PG in Science with 55% in both UG and PG in the subject, plus B.Ed.
  • Must be proficient in teaching two additional subjects in English.

Shortlisting based on: 100 marks each for PG, UG, HSS, and B.Ed. percentages.

Graduate Teachers (Arts, Arts-English, Science, Mathematics)

  • Arts/Arts-English: Graduate in Arts with Major/Hons (55% in major), plus B.Ed.
  • Science/Mathematics: Graduate in Science with Major/Hons (55% in major), plus B.Ed.
  • Expertise in one additional subject and a regional language (e.g., Assamese, Bodo, or Bengali based on region).

Shortlisting: 100 marks each for UG, HS, and B.Ed.

Graduate Teacher (Hindi)

  • Pravin/Ratna in Hindi (55%) with degree/PG in Arts (55%), or BA with Hindi (55%) as subject.
  • B.Ed. (Parangat equivalent for Hindi teaching).

Shortlisting: 100 marks each for BA/Pravin/Ratna, HS, and B.Ed.

Assistant Teachers (Arts & Science)

  • Graduate in Arts/Science (55%), plus D.El.Ed. from NCTE.
  • Proficiency in one additional subject and regional language.

Shortlisting: 100 marks each for UG, HS, and D.El.Ed.

Laboratory Assistant

  • Higher Secondary in Science (55%).

Shortlisting: 100 marks each for HS and HSLC.

Age limit: 21–45 years as of January 1, 2025. No reservations apply—selection is purely merit-based.

Application Process and Fees

Fees (non-refundable):

  • Post Graduate Teacher: Rs. 350
  • Graduate Teacher: Rs. 250
  • Assistant Teacher: Rs. 200
  • Laboratory Assistant: Rs. 150

Upload self-attested colored scans in PDF: Passport photo, HSLC admit (age proof), mark sheets/certificates from HSLC to PG/B.Ed./D.El.Ed., and signature. Ensure everything is genuine—fraud leads to cancellation and legal action.

Documents will be verified via DigiLocker, QR codes, and possibly physical checks. Shortlisted candidates get notified for verification and a Teaching Proficiency Test assessing communication, teaching skills, subject knowledge, writing, general awareness, and co-curricular expertise.

Selection Procedure
