The Government of India has established the IISERs at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati to integrate and promote interdisciplinary science education and research.
IISER Kolkata
IISER Kolkata invites applications from motivated students for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme for the Autumn 2026. The selected candidates can do a Ph.D. in any of the following disciplines: Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Computational and Data Sciences, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physical Sciences, and Space Sciences.
Reservations for candidates will be as per the Government of India norms.

Application fee (non-refundable) for PwD, SC, ST: ₹ 100/-

IISER Mohali
Applications are invited from prospective candidates for admission to the PhD program at IISER Mohali in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences for the session beginning in August 2026. Candidates interested in pursuing research in interdisciplinary areas are also encouraged to apply.
Application procedure: Prospective candidates should apply online via the “Online Application Facility” on the website at https://www.iisermohali.ac.in. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a screening test/interview at IISER Mohali.
Last date: The online application facility will remain active from 7th March, 2026 until March 31st, 2026 (Tuesday) up to 11:59 PM.
