The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, 2025. The first party to announce its candidates is the Jan Suraaj Party, led by the renowned strategist Prashant Kishor.

Prashant Kishor founded Jan Suraaj in 2024 to bring about positive changes in Bihar. The party wants to fight all 243 seats in the state. They promise better schools, jobs, and clean politics. On October 9, 2025, they released their first list of 51 candidates. This is a big step, as other parties like the NDA and the INDIA bloc are still talking about seat shares.

What makes this list special? It has people from all walks of life – teachers, doctors, singers, lawyers, and even a transgender candidate. There are 17 from Extremely Backward Classes, 11 from Backward Classes, 7 from Scheduled Castes, 7 from minorities, and 9 from the general category. This shows they want to include everyone. Prashant Kishor is not in the list yet – he will start campaigning on October 11 from the Raghopur seat.

Some big names include:

  • KC Sinha, a math expert and former Vice Chancellor of Patna University, from Kumhrar.
  • YB Giri, a top lawyer from Patna High Court, from Manjhi.
  • Ritesh Ranjan Pandey, a popular Bhojpuri singer, from Kargahar.
  • Priti Kinnar, a brave transgender leader, from Bhorey (SC).
  • Granddaughter of former CM Karpoori Thakur from Samastipur.
  • Daughter of RCP Singh from Nalanda.

The party says more lists will come soon. This could shake up Bihar politics, giving voters new choices beyond old parties.

Now, let’s look at the full list of 51 candidates in a table. I have added a brief profile for each to introduce them. The data comes from party announcements and news reports.
