Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research: 2026-27

Key Highlights

• The scheme aims to invigorate and revitalize cultural institutions under the Ministry of Culture and other identified cultural institutions.
• Open to both Indian and foreign nationals.
• Eligible candidates: Scholars with sound academic/professional credentials who have made significant contributions in their fields through original research papers in reputed journals and books.

Two Categories of Awards

1. Tagore National Fellows
   • Honorarium: ₹80,000 per month
   • Up to 15 awards per year
2. Tagore Research Scholars
   • Honorarium: Up to ₹50,000 per month
   • Up to 25 awards per year

Application Process

• Candidates must submit their complete application to any one of the Nodal Institutions of their choice (depending on the proposed area of research).
• The list of nodal institutions and the application form are available on:
  • Ministry of Culture website: https://culture.gov.in
  • Prime Ministers Museum and Library: www.pmmil.nic.in (under the Scheme Head)
• Last Date: Applications must reach the respective Nodal Institution on or before 15 July 2026.
• Applicants do not need to send a copy to the Ministry of Culture or PMML.
• Late applications will be summarily rejected.
